My dad, who was serving in the Seabees in the Pacific at the time, begged me not to go without a weapon. So I took my BB gun along and am damn glad I did. As I was checking into my hotel in Bruges, a Kraut sniper had a bunch of us pinned down in front of the hotel. I finally led a counterattack.
All the years of shooting tin cans payed off cause I drilled that Kraut right through the keyster and he left us alone after that. By the way, I had just met this crazy Hungarian name of Robert Capa. Bobby was quite the shutterbug and snapped this shot. Next Previous
