Prisoner of War in Italy

This photo was taken by my good buddy Bobby Capa shortly after my capture by the Italians in North Africa in 1943. I remember they marched me around for days but basically treated me good; every night we all chowed down on excellent carbonare made from local wild bores that the Italians would hunt with their machine guns.

The day this photo was taken, my guards got real testy and told me we'd be marching through a place where a Corporal Fellini was trying to make a movie. He'd brought this babe down from Rome, name of Gina Lollabridgida (I kid you not!). Apparently she was a bit concerned about her weight so Fellini forbade me on pain of death from gawking at her. I did give her a little sideways glance and for my efforts I got a nice little whack from a rifle butt upside my head. Was it worth it? Whatda YOU think??? This is what she looked like when she weren't having spaghetti every morning for breakfast.
