Leprechauns OK with Gaffe

My fellow Americans, I misspoke the other day when I referred to my dear old friend, Senator Ted Kennedy, as "you murdering old red-nosed Leprechaun!" In fact, the Senator is far too portly to be a genuine Leprechaun.

The Press are calling this "Rusty's first gaffe", but I am so very proud to report that the American Leprechaun Community has rallied behind me and replied with a resounding, "No offense taken, Mayor Scupperton, WE STILL LOVE YOU!!!!"

I should have called the Senator, "you murdering old red-nosed son of a bootlegging whore-monger!" Of course, this does not in any way imply that I believe that there is a link between the Whore-mongering Community and bootlegging. It just happens that Old Joe was indeed a bootlegger as well as whore-monger.
